As lovers of electronic music, Casa Kayam and the crew of Drum and Bass Medellin had to become friends. This collective is looking to promote and diffuse several types of bass music in the city of Medellin to expend the spectrum of rhythms and music tendencies. They work with locals and internationals artists to gather actors and audience of this new movement. Drum and Bass Medellin helps to develop the underground culture of the city.
When Laurent Pasquier came in Colombia for the first time, he brings in his luggage his new documentary, Bass Extase. It made sense for him to meet people of DnB Medellin. So when Juan Felipe (DnB Medellin) called Casa Kayam to tell us “Laurent would like to visit Guatape,” we jumped at the chance of projecting his amazing documentary in our hostel. Among the spectators, some were already listening to bass music, and other ones had no clue of what was it, but for sure we all learned a lot!
